Location:
Tambopata is located in the South-Eastern
region of Peru, near to Puerto Maldonado
city. It is part of the Amazon rainforest
and it is at 180 meters (600 feet) above
sea level.
Climate:
The weather is very tropical, it is hot
and humid, with a mean temperature of 28°C
(82°F). Nonetheless, the temperature
can drop to 10°C (50°F) in the night
between June and August. The rainiest season
is from December to March, it rains also
the rest of the year, but not as much.
Wildlife:
The National Park of Tambopata hosts
one of the most incredible wildlife in the
world due to the high diversity of it. It
is habitat of many endangered species who
have found in this region a natural shelter
without the interference of men. The region
has remained intact because of limited road
access and the fact that several major National
Parks are located in the area.
