HOME DESTINATIONS TOURS TESTIMONIALS About INDIANA Contact US

The hotels we include in our tours are 3-stars class. Some are hotels, some hostels; but in Peru the difference between these is that the hotel has a 24-hours food service, which the hostel doesn’t have. In all these places the rooms have a private bathroom with hot water (24 hours) and breakfast is always included.

For INDIANA EXPEDITION it is important to support Peruvian entrepreneurship and the local economy, that’s why we prefer small, charming and friendly hotels run by local people than big hotel chains.

Here you’ll find a short description of the hotels we include in our tours.

Lima: Hotel La Castellana
This charming colonial-style hotel will be your first stop in Peru. Its quite location will provide you a good rest after your arrival. And if you want to explore Lima, its great location in the heart of Miraflores area will give you the chance to tour one of the nicest and safest districts of Lima. The hotel is close to restaurants, bars, shopping facilities, handicrafts markets, etc., and by taxi you can go to the historic center of Lima in 15 minutes.

Cusco: Hostal Teatro Inka
This family-run hostel is the favorite of our travelers. Its staff is very friendly and helpful. The central yard surrounded by the rooms is a nice place to relax and drink a coca-tea to get used to the altitude. It is very close to the main plaza (5 minutes walk) where there are restaurants, handicrafts markets, convenience-stores, cafeterias and bars.

Puno: Hotel Balsa Inn
After the bus ride from Cusco to Puno you will appreciate the spacious and quite rooms of the Balsa Inn. From the hotel it is only a 5 minutes walk to the main square of Puno and the main street where you will find a lot of nice places to eat Peruvian food, including fresh trout from Lake Titicaca.

Arequipa: Hostal Casa de Melgar
This lovely place has kept the charm of the colonial architecture of Arequipa city. It is almost a town itself with big gardens and yards. The colonial-style rooms with high ceilings will transport you back in the time of the Spanish Colony, but with the conveniences of 21st century (hot showers and bathtubs, heating and cable-TV). It is just a few minutes away from the Main Plaza and the Santa Catalina Convent. Close by you will also find a lot of restaurants, stores and handicraft markets.

Chivay town (Colca canyon): Hotel Pozo del Cielo
This charming place will provide a good rest after the bumpy ride from Arequipa to Chivay town in the Colca canyon. Its rooms are nicely decorated, and its beds feel like paradise in this cold town. From its cafeteria you will see the sunrise above Chivay town and the Colca canyon while you breakfast, before your ride to watch the condors.

Cabanaconde town (Colca canyon): Hotel Kuntur Wassi
This is another of our travelers’ favorites. With its charming architecture and cozy rooms, the hotel is by far the best place to stay in this dusty town, on the edge of the Colca canyon. Its lovely beds will provide a great sleep before the next hike, and the great cooking of its chef is a plus.

Nazca: Hotel Alegría
A very convenient hotel in Nazca, rooms are simple but with all you will need, a clean and comfortable bed and a private bathroom with a hot shower. A plus of this place is its swimming pool, quite convenient to kill couple of hours before your next bus ride.

Pisco: Hostal Villa Manuelita
This hostel is quite new; it opened about a year ago. It's a lovely colonial house that has been completely restored and equipped to host tourists. It has nice rooms, a central yard with a fountain, a big lobby and a nice cafeteria for breakfast. All these makes of this hostel a good place to stay in Pisco.

Tambopata: Reserva Amazonica
This lovely eco-lodge is in the middle of the Amazon rainforest in a privately owned natural reserve next to the Tambopata National Park. It has been nicely designed and built with local materials fitting perfectly into the environment and reducing to a very low level any disturbance in the area. It has the best infrastructure in the region that includes an incredible canopy network and very comfortable rooms for the guests.
